What Is Qi Kwan Do?
A practical self-defence system
It’s perhaps the most practical and true self-defence system ever devised. Most street attacks are sudden and violent in their nature and there is little time for conscious thought or margin for error. Students learn to react automatically with conditioned responses that are rapid, accurate and executed without hesitation.
Every Technique in Qi Kwan Do is based on realistic self defence, in a real fight situation and to knock an opponent down in one strike. Some of the Qi Kwan Do techniques may not look as flashy as seen in the movies but they are all carefully designed and structured to be practical for people at any age and are realistic self defence tecniques.
Master Parisi has devised Qi Kwan Do based on three concepts:
Movements must be natural, easy to learn and easy to remember;
Movements must flow, with a circular motion in every punch and kick that uses the body’s movement to focus energy;
Movements must be practiced repeatedly under gradually more realistic conditions.
Qi Kwan Do movements differ from those of other martial arts as it uses:
Defensive stances , which are better for mobility and the ability to put body weight into a movement for optimum power
Economy of motion , which is achieved by keeping the hands up in a defensive position, not on the hip or crossed;
Flowing movements , so that all Qi Kwan Do movements flow into one another naturally without wasted motion.

Qi Kwan Do Black Belt Schools has been offering instruction and training in Martial Arts and Leadership skills since 1997. Located in Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire, Qi Kwan Do Black Belt Schools has produced champions in life as well as in the martial arts.
Headed by Master Parisi (5th Dan) and a staff of professional expert instructors and managers, Qi Kwan Do Black Belt Schools offers a number of programmes for physical fitness and instruction in martial arts, the art of goal setting and confidence building.

It is important for each student to learn to set short-term, intermediate, and long-term goals. At Qi Kwan Do Black Belt Schools every students goal is Black Belt Leadership and beyond. The Black Belt is a symbol of excellence in the martial arts and is an important tool for our professional instructors, so we can develop desire, determination and for teaching the importance of follow-through in any activity.
Our students are taught never to give up at any given task and they can do anything as long as they put their mind to it.
Qi Kwan Do: realistic Self Defence
Qi Kwan Do techniques are easy to learn regardless of your age or build, and are immediately effective. You learn self defence, and at the same time improve your fitness and confidence.
But self defence is more about state of mind than body strength. As well as improving balance and coordination you learn how to reduce stress and increase energy, which should leave you feeling better and looking better.
Qi Kwan Do uses internal strength using Qi Gong aswell as external energy. Qi Kwan Do is also different breathing from most other martial arts, known as Tortoise Breathing. 90% of people still don't know how to breath.

Qi Kwan Do For Women
Many women take their personal safety for granted. Perhaps it’s time to learn how to protect yourself, both physically and mentally. You don’t need to be aggressive.
Master Parisi has qualified as an instructor in Women’s Personal Safety and at your local Qi Kwan Do School you can learn how to defend yourself and also cultivate a sense of empowerment.
Qi Kwan Do For Men
Qi Kwan Do is also open to men of all ages, to help learn self defence, make friends, and just to have fun.
Qi Kwan Do For Seniors
Qi Kwan Do works differently from many martial arts, with no locking out of movements tp prevent injury. Also there is no need to havee high kicks in Qi Kwan Do and because of the way that Qi Kwan Do is designed it is available and safe for all ages, including the older generation and is a great way to help seniors learn self defence and stay fit. You are n ever too old.
Qi Kwan Do For Juniors
Qi Kwan Do helps to build self-confidence and self-esteem as well as improving mental alertness. Being confident and alert helps with school work and is also an essential part of putting an end to bullying.
Does Qi Kwan Do Have Competitions?
Yes. Some people may find that they benefit from training in a competitive environment. Qi Kwan Do is a member of the World Kick-Boxing Karate Association (WKA) which organises competitions worldwide. Qi Kwan Do also has optional Sparring Competitions, Weapons Kata Competitions, And Kata Forms competitions at the 'Extravaganza's'.
Are Qi Kwan Do instructors qualified?
Yes. All Qi Kwan Do Chief instructors are black belts who have studied Qi Kwan Do in great detail and have taken an assistant instructor course and also assisted a Chief Instructor. To qualify as a Chief Instructor involves passing an extensive course of examinations.
All instructors (chief and assistant) are first checked by the police and their schools and students are fully insured. Instructors must hold a current first aid certificate and be registered with the Amateur Martial Arts Association (AMA).
